EDUCATION IS SHAMEFUL,IF YOU CANNOT RESPECT IT

Education is shameful, if you cannot protect it

in May 3, 2007, it was around 4:35 p.m. on a very hot and humid day, we had a visit to our JHUM land (cultivation of rice on the mountain after clearing the deep forests). We were making the outskirts of our land to protect the land from entering the village cows, sheep’s buffaloes and goats. While making, I heard a strange sound-roaring violently. After a while, I looked at the big cross borders roads constructed or made by B.R.T.F, I guessed that it was BSF vehicle or gypsy.
A group of BSF jawans came down from the gypsy and they boldly entering into the jhum and carelessly moving around the entire areas. They were searching for the fuel- to cook food. They are collecting the scattered woods or logs.
By observing them for 10=15 minutes, my dad has started shouting to them. my dad is a very educated person and literate person, who can read, write and speak Hindi, English and Bengali fluently. At first he has requested them to come out from there since at that time, we had just newly planted the seeds. With this fear, he screamed and warned them to come out. Besides that he has asked them in English “why they had enter in to the jhum without asking us?” the BSF did not listen to us and they carelessly roaming around as if they could not hear us that we are shouting at them………… after half an hour, they came out and directly rush to us. One of them has collected one bamboo- stick from the ground to flee us. But we did not moved backward and we had stood, where we were? Dad, being an educated man, he has also picked up one small stick to protect us from them. I was helpless. I could not do anything and could not help him. They tried to arrest dad and tried to drag him. But among them, there stood a big and tall Punjabi man, wearing a big turban around his head. He came forward and stopped them. He has compromises with us and convince that it was their mistakes.. Perhaps he was the officer or team leader of them. According to me some BSF jawans are really illiterate, aggressive and arrogant. The person was really a parasite, who always gets ready to suck the innocent civilian blood. Many incidents has happened like this before in many remote villages, which is not known to us, the local people don’t have the courage to fight against them for their rights and justice.
It is still happening in many areas or villages across the Bangladesh borders. Many BSF jawans look for wine in the village and pressuring the civilians.
My mom really gets annoyed with me because she thinks that I am god for nothing. I remain silent when they drove my dad. My mom asked dad to make a complain the village headman or directly make a FIR against those miscreants so that they get punished by the officials and by the higher authorities.. but my dad is very silent and cool. Other does not know this incident since we had hidden and did not tried to spread this sad tragedy.

This article is totally dedicated to my dad and mom for their sacrifices for so long.

The Story Of My Life

My story and my family

It was in the month of august 1996; early in the morning I was quickly woke up by dad and we walked through the deep forests of our villages between the remote village of Chawngte and borapansury. At home i.e. in my village, I used to study at class-6. I got a chance to study at Calcutta (kolkata). I hardly remember the day, it was almost 5:45 am early morning (the time when the cock used to crow), we had reached at Aizawl(the capital city of Mizoram). The place was totally new for me and the journey was my first adventure in my life. All my friends, (who also got a chance like me) are preparing their bag gages, suitcases and their lodgings and ready to board on the safari towards our destination at the big city- Calcutta. I was too nervous and felt upset, thinking what to do” should I go or not?” my dad asked me to decide myself. Lastly I have made up mind that I should go and anyhow I should reach to my destination and should have to achieve my goal. I have decided to move further because I have seen my family situation and the worst-condition of our family. When I was at home, we used to do jhumming and still I remember the days when I used to carry one-tonne paddy on my back and we used to visit our jhum, after school. Imagine my life, from where I have come from a deep forest to a city. After reaching to the hostel I felt very lonely since I did not know anyone and everyone seems to be strangers. We don’t know each other and where everything was new. I used to think that I landed to a new unknown place. All the time I remembered my parents and I have missed them a lot. I used to see them in dreams only but when I woke up and open my eyes, I did not see them and then after a while I used to weep and cry and feel to go back at home. Since as a child, no one likes to stay far from the family members. After a couple of weeks we were allowed to move inside the hostel complex and we have a got a separate rooms. In our batch, we were 36 students in total and we, seven were from Mizoram. Though we all were from mizoram but all were from different villages and no one know each other. It is also true that we used to share things each other with a feeling that we all from the same state and besides that we had a very good relationship and unity was there among us. I was admitted in class-3. It took nearly one –month to adjust the environment and to mix-up with other students. The hostel was good enough, It was co-ed school and the seniors students used take us outside everyday with them in the evening and day-by-day our mind get a little secure and satisfied. The food menu was good. Once a week we used to get 2wice fish, 2wice eggs and on Sunday we get meat. The cook and the hostel-warden were really good. They always stay and most of the time they dedicate their time with us in gossiping. They always take of our health, bath and even studies also. They used to teach us the lessons, which is being taught in the school and always checks the regular home works daily. They really have taken a good care of every student. They are the only dad and mom for us. The hostel provides everything including stationary, books soaps, surf, oil, toothpaste and every other necessity and even dresses also. The name of the hostel is “bodhicariya school”. You can still find it in the area of new town MEGACITY, KOLKATA. But now days it has changed a lot. it has lost it traditional values and becoming more commercial. In the year of 2004, I have came out from the hostel after passing my class-10 exam since the hostel authorities don’t allow the out-going students inside the hostel. When I was in class-9 I had proposed to a sweet girl from tripura and that was my big mistake in my life that I have ever made../.........
i am going to share more............ after few days.. just wait for few days. i wil be back soon
